hi Will,
Yes, I would eat before I watched that scene. It was gross, and I usually don't find that kind of "humor" funny, but for some reason this worked. Maybe because that kid is just so damn cute! ~ Steve

Yes I agree it was a great movie but I saw a better one a couple of days ago. I had never seen the Broadway show or the movie so I picked up The Phantom of the Opera at Blockbuster. Wow! What a show and what music!

Oh and I watched the DVD of S.M. while eating so that may be why the escape scene did not seem so funny to me.

@JD, Thanks for welcoming me back to Earth. :) BTW, I think you did a better job of describing why the movie rocks than I did. I think you should have written this post!
@Lee, Rocks can rock. They can also Roll. :)
I've seen the headlines about the kids in the movie, but haven't read any of the stories. I think I'll leave it that way. No reason to spoil the movie with real life. :) Anyway, see the movie! ~ Steve

What about ROCKS? Do ROCKS rock? :D

I haven't seen Slumdog Millionaire yet, and will probably what until it is on Saturday Night at the Movies(remember those days?). The whole controversy around the kids in the movie are just a little more than troubling to me, and I'm not sure I want to support all of that by paying to see the movie.

Welcome to Planet Earth, where everyone pretty much agrees: Slumdog Millionaire ROCKS! I saw it in the theater with my mom and am watching it again at my movie club next week. Not only is it a gripping and inspirational story but the composition of how it's all pieced together (the flashbacks and flash-forwards; you don't really know what's happening "now" until maybe halfway thru) is truly masterful. Throw in some great acting and cinematography, and you've got yourself . . . an Oscar winner!

(I also agree that Netflix rocks!)
