Great post Steve. I rarely think about marketing, but I guess we are all marketing something everyday, even if it is only ourselves.

Upon reading your keys, I thought "these are not only keys to success, but to life overall".

Hi Lin,
Excellent comment. I couldn't have said it better. Treat people as humans and the same way you would want to be treated. Satisfied customers are an incredible marketing tool and are definately another key for marketing success. ~ Steve

Steve, these are excellent tips on marketing success, and I agree with you that it takes a lot of work for most people to achieve success.

If I could add one more key, it would be the importance of building personal relationships with those you are trying to market TO. Excellent customer service comes to mind, and doing unto others as we would have done to us. More often that not, it's the personal touch and personal attention that not only draws people in as customers (for example) but also leads to repeat business.

Anyone trying to build a successful business of some kind must remember that they are marketing to human beings and companies/corporations/businesses must maintain a personal connection to their customers as people rather than seeing dollar signs in their eyes.
